Pet Wellness Care Is Important for Good Health & Longevity. Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic offers pet wellness care for dogs and cats. Regular physical examinations are extremely important to maintain the health of your pet. Diagnostic laboratory testing provides key insight into the health of your pet. Certain laboratory tests are recommended during your pet’s annual wellness exam. In addition to detecting health issues, diagnostic testing performed on a healthy pet establishes a baseline of health characteristics, and the results can be compared over time and can help detect subtle changes that may not be noticeable with observation alone.

We know placing your pet under anesthesia can be anxiety-producing and at Diamond Bar Veterinary Clinic, we take anesthesia very seriously.  Prior to any surgical or dental procedure, we require a physical exam and bloodwork to make sure he or she is a good candidate for anesthesia. While your pet is under anesthesia, he or she is hooked up to monitoring equipment and supported with intravenous fluids. A skilled veterinary technician monitors your pets’ vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygenation, and temperature during all procedures/surgeries.

Pain management is also very important to us. If your pet is undergoing a painful procedure, he or she will be given pain-relieving medication to minimize pain and provide comfort prior to, during, and after the procedure.

What to Expect at Your Veterinary Surgery and Dentistry Visit
On the day of your pet’s scheduled surgical procedure, we will admit your pet between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. One of our skilled veterinary technicians will provide your pet with personalized care throughout the procedure and recovery. To help ensure your pet’s safety, we require a pre-operative examination, blood screening, and electrocardiogram (ECG) prior to all anesthetic procedures. We administer a pre-operative sedative to help your pet relax and minimize his or her stress.
During the procedure, we use the highest quality human-grade anesthesia and monitor your pet’s temperature, heart rate and rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and the oxygen level in the blood. We deliver IV fluids and pain medication to help keep your pet’s core temperature stable and to expedite recovery.
During recovery, a skilled veterinary technician monitors and cares for your pet to ensure he or she is provided with warm blankets and is kept comfortable and pain-free. We ensure to maintain transparency throughout the entire process through consistent involvement and updates between the doctors and pet owners.
